Have you visited the Career Pathways Web Portal? The Web Portal Career Pathways provides access to Labour Market Intelligence based tools for unemployed adults and those seeking new employment to explore potential new jobs based on their skills and to enter vocational education and training for skills updating.
On 26th June, ACP organized a dissemination event for the international Erasmus + "Career Pathways" project.
We shared with a group of adult educators, adult students, career guidance technicians, and school directors the final version of the "My Career Pathways Web Portal", as well as the other resources produced by the project's partners.
On 20th June, FORAVE and TecMinho, organised another dissemination event for the international Erasmus + "Career Pathways" project.
The workshop, to share the final version of the "My Career Pathways Web Portal", as well as the other resources produced by the project's partners, was aimed at adults, teachers/trainers, career guidance technicians, and school directors, and was held at Escola D. Sancho I, in Vila Nova de Famalicão, for a group of over 50 people.
Partners in the ERASMUS + “Career Pathways” project, TecMinho and Escola Profissional FORAVE organised an online workshop during which participants had the opportunity to explore the functionalities of the “My Career Pathways Web Portal” platform and the other resources produced by the project's Portuguese, Spanish and Greek partners.
Ana Silva Dias, the project coordinator from TecMinho in Portugal, and Graham Attwell, the project creator from Pontydysgu in Spain, presented the Career Pathways project at the 6th International Congress on Social and Educational Inclusion (CIISE 2024). The event took place on May 24-25 at the Sarriko Faculty of Economics and Management, University of Bilbao, and was conducted in a bimodal format (both face-to-face and online).

UPV researchers conducted three workshops during May 2024 in different VET schools—both public and private—scattered across the three provinces of the Basque Autonomous Community. In Gipuzkoa, we partnered with Don Bosco VET School to conduct a series of sessions in both Basque and Spanish during the second and third weeks of May. In Araba, we visited Molinonuevo Egibide and Arriaga Egibide VET schools. In Biscay, we teamed up with Txorierri (May 31th) and Santurtzi-Calasanz (May 20th) VET schools and conducted a session in each center.

El proyecto Erasmus+ "Career Pathways" ha estado involucrando activamente a comunidades de Portugal, Grecia y España a través de una serie de eventos comunitarios destinados a promover la formación profesional, las oportunidades de empleo y la orientación profesional. Estos eventos reunieron a profesionales de varios sectores, incluyendo la educación y los servicios de empleo, para explorar y debatir los avances del portal web "My Career Pathways".
Tras la segunda reunión del Comité de Seguimiento de nuestro proyecto, FORAVE y TecMinho se reunieron con la Oficina Municipal de Educación de V.N. Famalicão.
Durante la reunión, la plataforma "My Career Pathway Web Portal" fue compartida con un grupo de expertos, que están a cargo de trabajar en el nuevo Diagnóstico de Formación de FP para la Red Local de Educación y Formación, y se discutió la cooperación futura.
El evento se celebró el 27 de noviembre y asistieron y participaron más de 20 profesionales, entre profesores de formación profesional y personal de LANBIDE. LANBIDE es el servicio público de empleo de Euskadi, que ofrece a las personas que buscan su primer empleo, a las que están desempleadas, a las que desean reincorporarse al mercado laboral o a las que están trabajando y quieren cambiar de trabajo, acompañamiento y orientación en el proceso de búsqueda de empleo.
Tras la primera reunión del Comité de Seguimiento del proyecto Erasmus+ "Career Pathways", celebrada el pasado mes de marzo, en la que contamos con la participación de los representantes de empresas, agencias de empleo, orientación profesional, universidades y asociaciones de FP, FORAVE organizó, en colaboración con TecMinho, la segunda sesión de trabajo, que tuvo como objetivo presentar los avances ya realizados en el "Portal Web My Career Pathways", en base a los objetivos del proyecto y al feedback obtenido de los miembros de los Comités de Seguimiento de cada país socio.
Tras la exitosa conclusión de la 1ª sesión comunitaria del proyecto " Career Pathways", que tuvo lugar online el pasado mes de mayo, y a la que asistieron representantes del mercado laboral, instituciones educativas públicas y privadas, y organismos gubernamentales del sector turístico, la IDEC y Active Citizens Partnership colaboraron una vez más para organizar la 2ª sesión comunitaria. El objetivo principal de esta sesión era profundizar en las trayectorias profesionales dentro del sector turístico en Grecia. El debate se centró principalmente en las herramientas digitales desarrolladas por el proyecto para facilitar la entrada o la reorientación de las empresas en el mercado laboral del turismo.
TecMinho y el proyecto "Career Pathways" Erasmus+ organizaron el Webinar "CAREER PATHWAYS AND GREEN SKILLS", celebrado el 26 de mayo 2023, de 11:00 a 12:00 CET.
El proyecto desarrolla itinerarios profesionales hacia el empleo futuro, en colaboración con organizaciones de educación y formación, empresarios y profesionales de la carrera profesional y el empleo.
El mes pasado, nuestro socio La Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU) compartió las actividades y objetivos de "Career Pathways" durante la conferencia internacional de CINTE.
CINTE quiere consolidar y proyectar hacia el futuro el conocimiento generado en torno a la innovación y la inclusión social y educativa a través de las últimas tendencias, metodologías y teorías llevadas a cabo en este campo de investigación.
Con más de 140 participantes, el Congreso Internacional de Nuevas Tecnologías y Educación pretende tejer sinergias que permitan la creación de redes de investigadores, profesionales de entidades sociales y escolares, y con la sociedad, promover la transferibilidad del conocimiento alcanzado, compartir experiencias de trabajo en red, y generar diversas publicaciones de alto impacto científico que recojan reflexiones, debates, buenas prácticas y retos sobre la materia.
Nuestro seminario web, un acto asociado a la Semana Europea de las Capacidades Profesionales 2022, puso de manifiesto la urgencia de utilizar herramientas inteligentes para visualizar datos que permitan acceder a "buenos empleos". Las herramientas inteligentes que estamos desarrollando, en colaboración con organizaciones de educación y formación, empleadores y orientadores profesionales, permitirán a los adultos acceder a datos casi en tiempo real sobre futuros empleos y empleos verdes.

The workshop, to share the final version of the “My Career Pathways Web Portal”, as well as the other resources produced by the project’s partners, was aimed at adults, teachers/trainers, career guidance technicians, and school directors, and was held at Escola D. The online tool that connects the needs of the labour market with adults looking for better jobs, showing possible paths and opportunities for increasing skills and career planning, was tested with the group throughout the session, with room for questions and clarification of doubts.

Innotecs Conference 2024
Multiplier Event
On 14th May, UPV attended the annual Innotecs conference, an event dedicated to knowledge sharing and collaboration between educational and research organizations dedicated to innovation in VET education. Current annual conference was celebrated in Andra Mari VET school in the Basque town of Galdakao.
During the congress we had the opportunity to present the main features and project results of the Career Pathways project to a well-attended crowd of multiple VET teachers, researchers and professionals. We also had the chance to hand informative flyers about the project. During this presentation, we had the invaluable assistance of our colleagues from FORAVE.

Workshops
UPV researchers conducted three workshops during May 2024 in different VET schools—both public and private—scattered across the three provinces of the Basque Autonomous Community. All events were held in person and, in total, were attended by more than 200 job-seeking individuals and professionals. The goal of these workshops was to share and test the tools of the My Career Pathways Web Portal to improve the platform using the feedback gathered from the testers through a survey (one type for job-seeking individuals and a different one for VET professionals). Testers were reminded to keep the surveys open in a new tab so they could answer the questions while testing the platform.
To do so, the UPV team agreed to implement a schematic approach to the session, which would be divided into three parts and would use a PowerPoint presentation to guide all the explanations. First, a general introduction to the project was given, highlighting the general goals and objectives of the project. Having previously established which tools would be more interesting for each target group, our researchers and testers would go through the corresponding sections and tools one by one, ensuring nobody was left behind. Our PowerPoint presentation would show a screen capture of the current tool being examined at all times, helping testers identify the correct section of the portal.
On the one hand, job seekers focused on tools designed to enhance their job opportunities. Thus, they had the chance to create their own digital CV with their available skills and according to their job expectations. Once this section was explored, the testers learned how to modify their skill levels in the selected competencies, as well as add or remove others, using the “My Skills” tool. Moreover, in the “Career Pathways” section, job seekers explored the different pathways proposed by the platform, allowing them to compare their proficiency with the skill requirements of various jobs across different industries, both green and traditional. Furthermore, the job seekers explored the available courses. Finally, the open educational resources were presented, and the testers were allowed to thoroughly study their articles, videos, quizzes, and reflection questions.
On the other hand, VET professionals focused on sections related to academic and career guidance such as Labour Market Data and Green Economy and Occupations. In the first section, the professionals could use the LMI provided by Cedefop. After an extended explanation, we aimed the scope at the regional data of the Basque Autonomous Community, which might be of greater interest for making guidance and public policies adjusted to the evolution of the Basque economy. The professionals also had the opportunity to explore the Occupational Information Network by O*NET to acquire various types of information about new green jobs. Finally, the open educational resources were presented, which the experts had the opportunity to explore.
According to the results collected from the surveys, it is generally concluded that the platform has great potential to be useful for both job seekers and VET professionals. Thus, more than half of the job seekers and professionals would recommend this platform to their peers. Overall, the respondents believe that navigating the website is not difficult even without assistance. However, the VET professionals regret that the LMI data presented still retains considerable complexity, even when using graphs, and they request a more intuitive design. At the same time, the job seekers hope that more courses will be added in the future and that tools will be implemented to make specific job offers known. The translation inconsistencies on the website have also been an existing problem during the testing phase, which the testers hope will be resolved soon.

Online Workshops
Three online workshops were conducted in April of 2024. The online events focused on the engagement of young professionals, unemployed adults and VET (Vocational Education and Training) providers and staff with the ‘My Career Pathways Web portal’, the overall functionality of the project’s platform and its associated tools.
The primary objective of these workshops was to demonstrate to participants how to use LMI (Labour Market Intelligence) data and tools, in order to enhance their professional development and overall teaching practices.
In the first workshop participated the Public Thematic School of Higher Vocational Training of Egaleo, while the subsequent event involved the Higher School of Tourism Education of Crete. The third workshop session was conducted with the participation of the VET Centre of Central Greece in Macedonia.
After the introductions and initial presentation of the project and its objectives, the events focused on the dissemination of the platform and its tools, that aim to support the professional career paths of both students and educators. After a detailed presentation of the platform, participants were invited to interact with the online portal, exploring potential employment avenues aligned with their skills sets using LMI tools.
The sessions were also included a section during which the participants learned how to create and refine their own digital CVs based on their existing experiences, while leveraging the ESCO (European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations) framework, which facilitated the comparison between job opportunities within the “green” job sector. Subsequently, attendees were taught how to adjust their skills levels using the ‘My Skills’ tool and identify additional competencies necessary for their desired roles.
Moreover, participants saw how to navigate labour market data: this included research based on specific employment sectors and broader market trends, using filters by country and region.
Following this comprehensive introduction to the platform and its functionalities, students (and professionals) were encouraged to actively explore it, create their own digital CVs, adjust their skills levels and access pertinent labour market data, tailored to their career interests.
Based on feedback surveys that were distributed post-event, both young professionals and educators reached a consensus regarding the efficacy of developing an online CV as the most effective and efficient tool. This approach offered individuals the opportunity to generate seamlessly a polished, professional document, even without prior experience.
In the end, participants expressed their satisfaction for the overall platform and the LMI tools, particularly appreciating the swift assessment of their skills, their development level and the real-time updates provided. This feature rendered platform an engaging means for conducting comprehensive evaluations of job requirements and qualifications leading towards employment opportunities.

Career Pathways presented at the CIISE 2024 Conference in University of Basque Country

CIISE’24 focused on strategies to reduce social exclusion, aiming to explore alternative approaches and foster collaboration for building more inclusive, innovative, and reflective societies. The presentation and discussion of the Career Pathways project addressed issues surrounding the creation of new and improved job opportunities for individuals with fewer qualifications.
During the session, the Career Pathways Portal was showcased. This platform connects labor market needs with adults seeking better employment, illustrating potential pathways and opportunities for skill enhancement and career planning. The session included an interactive component, allowing for questions and a robust debate.

EVENTOS COMUNITARIOS EN ESPAÑA
El evento se celebró el pasado 27 de noviembre y asistieron y participaron más de 20 profesionales, entre profesores de FP y personal de LANBIDE. LANBIDE es el Servicio Vasco de Empleo del Gobierno Vasco, que ofrece a las personas que buscan su primer empleo, a las que están desempleadas, a las que desean reincorporarse al mercado laboral o a las que están trabajando y quieren cambiar de empleo, acompañamiento y orientación en el proceso de búsqueda de empleo.
Gorma Román, María Orcasitas e Itsaso Biota dinamizaron el evento. Itsaso se encargó de la presentación inicial, y María y Gorka realizaron la presentación del proyecto y de la herramienta, de forma consecutiva.
La mayoría de los asistentes mostraron un gran interés por conocer los usos y oportunidades que ofrece la herramienta, ya que la consideran muy útil para sus alumnos. Algunas personas se ofrecieron a probar la herramienta con sus estudiantes y darnos su opinión sobre lo que ellos y sus estudiantes podrían considerar como consejos de mejora. Después del evento recibimos comentarios de algunas personas, pero aún necesitamos contactarlos nuevamente para que cuando la herramienta esté más refinada puedan probarla nuevamente.
El personal de LANBIDE también mostró un gran interés en participar en el proyecto. Consideran interesante la posibilidad de combinar la información de sus cursos de formación profesional con la herramienta. Queda por estudiar cómo podríamos dar acceso desde la herramienta a los cursos de LANBIDE.

EVENTOS COMUNITARIOS EN PORTUGAL
Tras la primera reunión del Comité de Seguimiento del proyecto Erasmus+ “Career Pathways”, celebrada el pasado mes de marzo, en la que participaron representantes de empresas, agencias de colocación, orientación profesional, universidades y asociaciones de FP, FORAVE organizó, en colaboración con TecMinho, la segunda sesión de trabajo, que tuvo como objetivo presentar los avances ya realizados en el “Portal web My Career Pathways”, en función de los objetivos del proyecto y de la retroalimentación obtenida de los miembros de los Comités de Seguimiento de cada país socio.
El webinar tuvo lugar el pasado 28 de noviembre y los principales temas tratados fueron el “Portal web My Career Pathways”, las novedades implementadas en 2023, el suministro de datos sobre puestos de trabajo y competencias por sector y zona geográfica a partir de los anuncios de empleo online por región en los 28 países europeos, y la consulta y debate sobre las nuevas funcionalidades a crear.
En general, la Comisión de Seguimiento consideró que la plataforma era una herramienta muy útil para la orientación profesional y fue muy clara sobre las funcionalidades que esperaban de ella, dando importantes aportaciones relacionadas con el atractivo, la agilidad y el poder transformador de la IA sobre los logros de las diversas herramientas que se crearán para los solicitantes de empleo y los orientadores de carrera, así como la formación específica.
Como resultado inmediato de la reunión, FORAVE y TecMinho fueron invitados por la oficina del Municipio de Educación para hacer una presentación de la plataforma Career Pathways, a un grupo de expertos que se encarga de trabajar en el nuevo Diagnóstico de Formación FP para la Red Local de Educación y Formación.
En este proyecto se desarrollarán varias herramientas basadas en datos e información de bases de datos abiertas, que analizan la situación actual del mercado laboral, y las necesidades de competencias presentes y futuras en diferentes puestos de trabajo; proporcionar vías profesionales de formación y empleo para los desempleados y las personas en riesgo de desempleo; proporcionar datos a los empleadores, los responsables políticos, los directivos y los proveedores de educación y formación profesionales sobre las competencias y las demandas de formación relacionadas con los mercados nacionales y regionales, y formar a los asesores profesionales de los servicios públicos de empleo en el uso de las herramientas digitales desarrolladas.

EVENTOS COMUNITARIOS EN GRECIA
Tras la exitosa conclusión del 1º evento comunitario del proyecto ‘Career Pathways’, que tuvo lugar de forma online el pasado mes de mayo, y que contó con la presencia de representantes del mercado laboral, instituciones educativas públicas y privadas, y organismos gubernamentales del sector turístico, IDEC y Active Citizens Partnership colaboraron una vez más para organizar la 2ª sesión comunitaria. El objetivo principal de esta sesión fue profundizar en las trayectorias profesionales dentro del sector turístico en Grecia. La discusión se centró principalmente en las herramientas digitales desarrolladas por el proyecto para facilitar la entrada o reorientación de las empresas en el mercado laboral turístico.
Realizada en línea el 14 de noviembre de 2023, la 2ª sesión de la Comunidad abordó varios temas, incluidos los objetivos del proyecto y una descripción general de las herramientas creadas hasta el momento. El IDEC, durante el evento, recogió opiniones y sugerencias de mejora por parte de expertos en turismo de Formación Profesional y mercado laboral. Active Citizens Partnership presentó una descripción detallada de la plataforma en línea, ‘My Career Pathways Web portal’, destacando sus aspectos integrados y su progreso general. Además, presentaron la función ‘Anuncios de empleo online’, basada en los datos recogidos de los puestos de trabajo categorizados por sectores. El objetivo final era evaluar la practicidad, el realismo y la facilidad de uso de las herramientas, evaluando si proporcionan información y soporte valiosos, y si satisfacen efectivamente las necesidades de los usuarios finales.
A lo largo del evento, los expertos de la Comunidad proporcionaron valiosas aportaciones sobre la funcionalidad de las herramientas. También compartieron sugerencias de mejora, como la reducción de las categorías generales a tres, la incorporación de los niveles del MEC como referencia y la presentación de las 5-10 principales habilidades requeridas en lugar de una presentación en un cuadro de mando. La retroalimentación general enfatizó la estructuración de los niveles basados en habilidades más que en los niveles educativos, con una conexión paralela con las necesidades realistas del mercado laboral. Con respecto al proceso de mejora de las competencias, se señaló que se requiere un título, pero la claridad es esencial para describir el camino a partir del cual el título se vuelve necesario.
Por último, los participantes expertos ofrecieron sugerencias sobre temas más amplios relacionados con la industria del turismo, discutiendo la necesidad de incluir descripciones de puestos en diversos puestos dentro del sector turístico público y privado, para que las partes interesadas conozcan bien los puestos de trabajo ofrecidos y sus requisitos específicos.

Webinar"CAREER PATHWAYS AND GREEN SKILLS"
TecMinho y el proyecto Erasmus+ “Career Pathways” organizaron el Webinar “CAREER PATHWAYS AND GREEN SKILLS”, celebrado el 26 de mayo de 2023, de 11:00 a 12:00 CET.
Durante el Webinar, se presentaron las herramientas que permiten a las personas crear su CV, basado en competencias (utilizando descriptores ESCO), se explicó cómo utilizar la herramienta para obtener nuevas habilidades y formación y para conseguir mejores empleos.
Las herramientas de Career Pathways permitirán a las personas crear sus propias trayectorias profesionales basadas en las habilidades, para acceder a los empleos verdes disponibles. Comprenderán el camino para mejorar o volver a capacitarse para acceder a esos futuros trabajos. La herramienta Career Pathways presentará diferentes trayectorias y capacitaciones que los llevarán a progresar hacia trabajos mejores y mejor pagados. Utilizando herramientas de visualización, será posible hacerse una idea de los empleos verdes más demandados en la actualidad y hasta 2030.
El objetivo será profundizar en la comprensión de la importancia de las herramientas del proyecto “Career Pathways” como instrumentos para vincular las necesidades del mercado laboral y los adultos que buscan mejores empleos en la economía verde.
El proyecto Erasmus+ “Career Pathways” está promovido por TecMinho en colaboración con una asociación europea de entidades de Portugal, España y Grecia y tiene como objetivo desarrollar y probar nuevas herramientas que ayuden a los adultos a acceder al mercado laboral proporcionando información/”inteligencia” trabajada sobre las habilidades que el mercado laboral quiere ahora y en el futuro. Estas herramientas están dirigidas específicamente a todos los adultos que buscan empleo y a aquellos que buscan capacitación para aumentar sus habilidades para los “buenos trabajos”. También se elaborarán instrumentos de apoyo para el desarrollo de trayectorias profesionales para los orientadores profesionales, los empleadores, los centros de formación y los responsables de la formulación de políticas regionales. El objetivo es desarrollar trayectorias profesionales hacia futuros empleos y empleos verdes, trabajando junto con organizaciones de educación y formación, empleadores y profesionales de la carrera y el empleo.

En el marco de la Semana Europea de las Competencias Profesionales 2022, TecMinho y el proyecto “Career Pathways” Erasmus+ organizarán el Webinar “CAREER PATHWAYS AND GREEN ECONOMY”, que tendrá lugar el 17 de mayo, entre las 11:00 y las 12:00 CET (10:00 – 11:00 hora de Lisboa).
El seminario web tiene como objetivo promover un animado debate sobre cómo la economía verde es un buen ejemplo de cómo los adultos pueden mejorar o reciclarse para acceder a “mejores” puestos de trabajo.
El seminario web está dirigido a adultos en busca de empleo (desempleados o en busca de nuevas oportunidades), proveedores de EFP, formadores, profesionales de la orientación profesional, empresarios, responsables políticos regionales y todos aquellos interesados en los temas tratados en este evento.
El cambio hacia economías más sostenibles y ecológicas está reconfigurando la oferta y la demanda del mercado laboral. Esto aumenta la importancia de crear competencias y nuevos itinerarios profesionales a lo largo de toda la vida para colmar las lagunas de competencias, apoyar las transiciones en el mercado laboral y fomentar la inclusión social.
Un reto clave es cómo hacer el mejor uso posible de la inteligencia/información evolutiva sobre las capacidades en un mundo que cambia rápidamente, y cómo se puede acceder a esta inteligencia/información.
El seminario web forma parte del proyecto Erasmus+ “Career Pathways” promovido por TecMinho, que incluye una asociación de instituciones europeas de Portugal, España y Grecia.
El proyecto Erasmus+ “Career Pathways” tiene como objetivo desarrollar y probar nuevas herramientas que ayuden a acceder al mercado laboral y a la información sobre las competencias que el mercado laboral busca ahora y en el futuro. Estas herramientas estarán dirigidas a adultos en busca de empleo, demandantes de formación, proveedores de educación y formación, profesionales de la orientación profesional, empresarios y responsables políticos regionales.
El objetivo es desarrollar itinerarios profesionales hacia futuros empleos y empleos verdes, trabajando conjuntamente con organizaciones de Educación y Formación, empleadores y profesionales de la orientación profesional y el empleo.
El evento “TRAYECTORIAS PROFESIONALES Y ECONOMÍA VERDE” se celebrará en línea, en lengua inglesa.
